Background
Professor Perez is currently active in the Emergency Management field, where he practices Emergency Management as a consultant and contractor for work, as well as conducting pro-bono work for smaller organizations. Professor Perez also assists with the McDonough County Emergency Services and Disaster Agency. Professor Perez, through contracts, also works in Armed and Unarmed Security.

Professor Perez is proficient in teaching Juvare webEOC and D4H Incident Management platform. Juvare webEOC is a web-based crisis information system widely used by emergency management and public safety organizations at the federal, state, and local levels in the United States and around the globe. D4H Incident Management platform is a modern cloud-based platform that is designed to help response teams plan, respond, and recover from incidents with real-time incident logging and communication features, Digital Incident Command System forms and tools, and more.

Professor Perez has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Emergency Management, a Master of Arts degree in Public Safety Administration, and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Emergency Management.

When Professor Perez is not teaching or doing work in the Emergency Management Field, Professor Perez is also a competitive powerlifter. He has competed on the local, state, national, and international level, going as far as London to compete. Professor Perez competed in the World Drug Free Powerlifting Federation (WDFPF) and the American Drug Free Powerlifting Federation (ADFPF). Professor Perez won a world championship at the 145kgs/319.5lbs Weight Class at the WDFPF Full Power World Championship in London when he represented the USA and competed against 12 other countries back on November 4th, 2023. Currently, he is actively competing in Powerlifting America (PA), hoping to compete one day in their National Championship.
