Just Hired! Through the experiences of local, regional, national and international students, Â鶹´«Ã½ Illinois University has some incredible alumni who are changing the world in the workforce. This series will feature students from all over the world who are hired post-graduation.
MACOMB, IL - - Meet Alexis Ellis, a Â鶹´«Ã½ Illinois University Elementary Education graduate, who has been hired by the Lincoln-Irving Elementary School within the Moline Coal-Valley District 40.
Ellis applied for an opening within the same district as her student teaching position. She prepared for her application with a mock interview with the principal at her student teaching school.
During her time at Â鶹´«Ã½, Ellis acquired essential skills to become a successful educator.
"Through Â鶹´«Ã½, I learned a ton of information regarding Kagan strategies and how to develop my own classroom management plan," Ellis said. "I was also lucky to have encountered some amazing professors who held me to a high standard!"
After her first year of teaching, Ellis plans to continue her education at Â鶹´«Ã½.
